Channel47, a project using the power of local resources and entertainment to share Japan and its local culture with the world, has announced LOOK LOCAL SUMMIT 2024 in ISHIKAWA, a conference in collaboration with the Junior Chamber International Kanazawa. The conference is being held as part of the “AI” Fes Ishikawa event on July 6 in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. Under the theme of RE_GENERATIVE Regional Reconstruction, the project will continue brainstorming regional creations combined with entertainment and local resources.
The first session will feature EXILE member and Kawasaki City Cultural Ambassador Toshio Matsumoto, who will introduce his official YouTube channel ‘MATSUBocchi IN THE HOUSE,’ launched to support his beloved hometown of Kawasaki. The artist has taken on numerous projects under the name ‘Toshio Kawasaki,’ and Channel47 will continue exploring ways that artists and TV personalities can contribute to their local communities.
Session 2 will consist of a chat session with Misa Kimura, the general producer of KAWAII LAB, a project by ASOBISYSTEM to promote Japanese idol culture to the world. The talk will focus on how to transform local resources into entertainment and how to share them globally.
Additional events being held at Love Fest Ishikawa include sessions related to inbound tourism and reconstruction following the 2024 Noto earthquake. A special live performance by the Hokuriku Idol Club and local kids’ dance teams will also bring plenty of excitement to the festival, along with food and drink booths featuring local fare and sake. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go towards the reconstruction of the Noto region.
