Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Commemorates Nippon Budokan Performance with LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project T-Shirts

2022.10.11

In conjunction with Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s 31-stop 10th Anniversary Japan Tour, the LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project was launched to energize not only each concert venue, but all of Japan through the appeal of regional towns and cities.

During the project, Kyary collaborated with a local company, each deeply rooted in the local community. The project pays homage to Kyary’s past releases by remaking the logos and other elements of each company, producing collaborative products and T-shirts featuring these fun new logos. 32 unique collaborations were born during the event, including one with Little Tokyo in Los Angeles, which Kyary visited in April.
To commemorate the last stop of the tour at Nippon Budokan on October 19, all sold-out 32 LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project collaborative T-shirts will be available again for a limited time. For those who can’t decide which shirt to buy, the LPJP Complete Lineup Collaboration Logo T-shirt will be available, showing off every logo created during the project’s run.

On October 19, the day of the concert, some collaboration products will be on sale at the LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project booth outside the concert venue.

■ What is the LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project?

The LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project is connected to Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s national tour, ‘KYARY PAMYU PAMYU 10th ANNIVERSARY JAPAN TOUR 2022 CANDY WAVE,’ which began in January 2022. As local industries and tourist destinations hit hard by the pandemic resume their activities, this project was launched to help revitalize local communities.
On each stop of her nationwide tour, Kyary has collaborated with a local company, each deeply rooted in the local community. The project pays homage to Kyary’s past releases by remaking the logos and other elements of each company, producing collaborative products and T-shirts featuring these fun new logos. These products are sold at local concert venues, participating company stores, and the official LOCAL POWER JAPAN Project online store for a limited time. A portion of T-shirt sales is donated to select programs for local development and social betterment.
