Gai Ueno recently starred in the film Matchmond, which was released on September 11.

Based on the battle manga Matchmond by Shogo Horiuchi (published by Shonen Gahosha in Young King magazine), the live-action film is a new-generation buddy action movie directed by Ryusuke Kurahashi and written by Yugo Sakamoto.

The premise, “connecting with new rivals through an app,” is a unique one, and the film’s cast of high school characters features strong, well-defined personalities. Ueno plays Kinosuke Udagawa, a member of a delinquent gang.
