Takuma Usa to Appear in TV Tokyo NEXT Drama ‘I Hear the Sunspot’

Takuma Usa will appear in the TV Tokyo NEXT Drama I Hear the Sunspot starting July 3.

The series is based on the manga series of the same title by Yuki Fumino, which is serialized in the semi-monthly boys’ love manga anthology Canna and has sold over 2.1 million copies to date. This live-action version will adapt both I Hear the Sunspot and its sequel I Hear the Sunspot: Theory of Happiness.

Kohei is a deaf university student who keeps his distance from others because of his disability, while his classmate Taichi is optimistic and outgoing. As the latter agrees to take notes for him, they become closer, and their friendship begins to evolve into love.

Takuma Usa will play Taichi’s friend Tomoki Yokoyama.

<Comment from Takuma Usa>
“My name is Takuma Usa and I will be playing the role of Tomoki Yokoyama. To play the role well, I read the original story, and I’ll do my best to add some spice to this delicate and heartfelt series. Since there are a lot of other cast members around the same age on set, I’d like to enjoy the shoot while learning as much as I can from them!”
