MANON Drops ‘Fake Friends,’ the First of Four Consecutive Monthly Releases

2022.10.14

The first of four consecutive releases, MANON has just released the new song Fake Friends.

The track was co-written with up-and-coming trackmaker Kiraku and is a blend of rock and hyper-pop, giving listeners the strength to believe in themselves and live honestly and loudly even they feel out of place.

Popular with Gen Z, MANON previously released TROLL ME in May 2022 in collaboration with the producer group six impala, whose Bring Me The Horizon remix has been a hot topic on social media. In July, she released the song Lazy Bandits in collaboration with PANPAN YEEYEE, a Thai singer-bassist active in Thailand’s booming indie scene.

With a new surge in overseas fans thanks to TikTok, MANON’s new tracks are a must-listen for fans.

<Comment from MANON>

Fake Friends is the first song I wrote with Kiraku, an amazing trackmaker that I’ve been working with recently. The lyrics are the most introspective ones I’ve ever written, and the song was inspired by the pandemic and how I felt as I slowly had more opportunities to interact with people again.

I’m sure that everyone can relate–in school and in life, you have fake friends, but it’s a waste of time to worry about them. This song is all about leaving those bad vibes behind and moving on as quickly as you can.

The cover art and music video were created by Kiraku’s friends Mark Robinson and MIQ. It’s almost like working with a new team has created a different version of me!

Enjoy a darker side to MANON this time around⭐️
Please give it a listen!^^”
