Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Delights Fans at First Solo Concert Following Birth of First Child, Performs Cover of Inspirational Track ‘dreamin dreamin’
2025.10.28

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu held her first solo concert since giving birth, titled ‘dreamin dreamin,’ at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA in Tokyo on October 25.
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu gave birth to her first child last year, and this new live performance was the first since the ‘Celebrating Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall’s 100th Anniversary: Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Special Live 2023 – Midnight Sun -’ show held in July 2023. The show was themed around the “happy dreams” and “sad dreams” Kyary experienced before her child was born. The singer was told that she had miscarried during her first pregnancy, but on the day she was meant to undergo surgery, the child’s heart was still beating. She kept performing on stage while hiding her fear that she could miscarry at any moment. Each day was spent praying, and in the end, the baby was born safely. Every day was a rollercoaster of nerves and excitement, and this has been packed into a live show that feels like an emotional rollercoaster.
It had been about two years and three months since Kyary’s last solo concert, so it was no surprise that so many fans gathered at the venue. Fans of all ages eagerly awaited Kyary’s long-awaited live show, sporting their own unique outfits: matching looks with concert T-shirts, colorful Harajuku-style fashion, kimono ensembles, Lolita fashion, and even outfits modeled after the singer’s own costumes.
As the pre-show announcements concluded, thunderous applause erupted from the audience, immediately followed by a resounding chorus of “Kyary!” As if drawn by these hopeful cheers, Kyary appeared from a door adorned with hearts, dressed in a negligee-inspired outfit. Heading towards a bed, the singer began with a cover of CAPSULE’s song dreamin dreamin, released in 2006. This song, which also serves as the concert’s title, was one Kyary listened to constantly during her pregnancy, drawing courage from it. This time, she personally negotiated a cover with producer Yasutaka Nakata himself, making the performance a reality. Additionally, the negligee costume and bed were an homage to Kyary’s early live performances, and some fans immediately had a sense of nostalgia. Furthermore, a red dancer embodying the new emotions that emerged with the arrival of a child from her womb appeared on stage.

After finishing the song, Kyary addressed the audience. “Hello, I’m Kyary Pamyu Pamyu,” she began, beaming with joy as she reunited with her fans. “Have fun until the very end!” Amidst such blissful happiness, characters embodying the emotions in her mind appeared and performed Cosmetic Coaster. When performing her signature song Tsukematsukeru, the fan’s energy instantly surged. Following this, during Kizunami, the fans raised their hands together, creating a sense of unity that felt impossible for a live performance after such a long hiatus.
During the MC segment, Kyary explained the theme of this live performance and reflected on the many days filled with anxiety during her first pregnancy, when she experienced the threat of miscarriage and premature labor. Even so, she shared with her fans the miracle of safely giving birth to her first child and being able to perform on stage once again.

Audiences were thrilled to hear OEDOEDO, which had only been performed live once before and quickly become a fan favorite. Given that it’s a legendary song, the title announcement alone sent the venue into such a frenzy that cheers erupted. Riding that momentum, Kyary went on a run of popular tracks, singing 100% no Jibun ni, Kimi ni 100 Percent, CANDY CANDY, Todoke Punch, and Chami Chami Charming with boundless energy.
As the stage darkened, a dancer embodying the artist’s new “heart” born during pregnancy reappeared. Her breathtaking dance performance, expressing the happiness, anxiety, and sadness experienced during pregnancy, captivated the entire audience. Kyary then appeared in a new outfit–a sparkling apron glistening in the light, highlighting her new role as a mother. Candy Racer instantly transformed the venue’s atmosphere, followed by Mi and Furisodeshon, pushing the crowd’s excitement to its peak.

The second half of the concert kicked off with Enka Natrium. At Kyary’s signal, the colors of the glow sticks throughout the venue changed in sync with the chorus. Amidst that overwhelming sense of unity, they drew fans in with KURU KURU HARAJUKU before unleashing hit after hit like Mondai Girl and Fashion Monster. Furthermore, seeing her perform Harajuku Iyahoi and Mottai Night Land, one couldn’t help but feel the strength of the bond between Kyary and her fans.
The joyful time flew by in an instant. As Kyary returned to bed and fell asleep with the final Goodnight, the curtains closed to thunderous applause and the voice of Kyary’s beloved child, bringing the main part of the live performance to a close.

During the encore, Kyary reappeared on stage wearing the bunny ears she often sported during live encores since her early days. Amidst cheers from the audience for the nostalgic costumes, she performed their debut song PONPONPON. She returned to her roots alongside her fans who waited for this ultimate performance, no matter how much time passed. Finally, during Family Party, Kyary surpassed the night’s peak excitement with the entire venue—her “family” whom she loves as much as her own daughter—before leaving the stage.
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, who had canceled all scheduled live performances due to pregnancy preparations, was then told she was at risk of miscarriage and premature labor, spending every day in anxiety. Through sleepless nights filled with anxiety, she refused to give up, summoning a miracle and giving birth to her first child. Now that she’s become a mother, she’s become even more powerful, and we can’t wait to see what she does next.

The cover of dreamin dreamin, which was first performed during Kyary’s concert, will be available to stream starting at 12:00 AM on October 26. Additionally, this live performance is available to watch on U-NEXT until November 8.
