KAWAII LAB’s seven-member idol group FRUITS ZIPPER held the final performance of their first nationwide hall tour FRUITS ZIPPER JAPAN TOUR 2024 – AUTUMN – THE STORY OF SEVEN COLORS on December 16 at Tokyo Garden Theater. The tour drew a total attendance of 40,000 people, and the girls, who have steadily stepped up their game since last October at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium and this May at their two-day Nippon Budokan performances, showed how much they’d grown in 2024.

After an opening video telling the story of “the birth of seven princesses in a small kingdom,” the members appeared on an arch-shaped staircase set up on the stage that looked like something out of a fairy tale castle. The show started with Rainbow, which was performed for the first time at the Nippon Budokan, where a surprise announcement was made that this tour would be held. At that time, the members shared that they hoped to become “more than idols,” and on stage now, they looked like royalty, dressed in princess dresses in their member colors and sporting confident expressions. 

Changing out of their gorgeous dresses to their idol costumes, they continued with Kimino Akarui Miraiwo Oikakete. After an MC welcomed the fans to the venue, the energy ramped up and the dance party began with Pure in the World. The song Dear you featured a look back at the tour, with the audience cheering as the intro began to ring out. The group sang softly about their unbreakable bond, which has only strengthened over the past few years and will continue to be bolstered in the future.

Following this, the Amaren Sisters, Tsukiashi Amane and Matsumoto Karen, performed Pinky Red The unit tracks continued, as Luna Nakagawa and Noel Hayase sang Bye-Bye and Suzuka Chinzei, Yui Sakurai, and Manaka Mana performed Tenshin Ranman. The music, which helped each member’s unique characteristics stand out even more, highlighted the high level of performance skills the girls have cultivated and the individuality of each member. Karen’s solo song, Super Karen Time, had the audience’s eyes glued to the stage as she performed her dainty dance. 

The seven members, who changed into new costumes made of rainbow-colored fabric, gathered on stage following the unit performances. “Everyone! For the tour finale, please dance as cute as you can,” said Yui Sakurai. The group then turned things up by performing their hit song Watashino Ichiban Kawaiitokoro and the self-intro track Welcome to ~ the ♡Furuppa! Switching gears, the girls performed Starlight Valkyrie, a coupling track from their second single CD NEW KAWAII/Fruits Basket, which featured more melancholy expressions paired with powerful choreography and vocals.

Toward the end of the show, glow sticks in the colors of the members shone brightly during Fruits Basket, a song that has become synonymous with the group. This was followed by the celebratory track Chou Medetai Song ～Konnani Shiawasede Iinokana?～, with the fans in the audience cheering and shouting “Congratulations!” NEW KAWAII, a song performed on seemingly countless stages in 2024 and embodying the group’s ‘From Harajuku to the World’ concept, boosted the energy in the venue. Tape in the member’s colors was sprayed from above the stage and the event came to its grand conclusion.

For the encore, the girls once again performed Fruits Basket, this time closer to the audience. During this, it was announced that two performances at Kobe’s World Memorial Hall had been added to the list of dates for the FRUITS ZIPPER 3rd ANNIVERSARY Chou Medetai Live tour, with the final stop being Saitama Super Arena. The girls sang NEW KAWAII again as if looking back at everything that happened in 2024, with a number of NEW KAWAII episodes being recounted by each of the seven members. The group’s first nationwide hall tour, which included 15 shows in 12 cities throughout Japan, finally came to an end.

During the final MC, Mana Manaka revealed that she had been incredibly anxious about the lengthy tour, which lasted for three months. “Every time we go on stage, everyone cheers us on and gives us a lot of power,” she said through tears. “If I could make even one person happy and could make them smile, I wanted to continue to stand on stage, even if there were some setbacks.” FRUITS ZIPPER is now looking ahead to 2025 with a fan club tour and an arena show to celebrate the group’s third anniversary. Their journey to share “NEW KAWAII” continues as they strive to realize their enormous dreams.
