On December 19, ATARASHII GAKKO! released the new song Sailor, Sail On.

This song acts as the theme song for Labyrinth, the first original feature-length animated film by director Shoji Kawamori, known for numerous hits including Macross and Aquarion. The film is scheduled for theatrical release in January 2026. This track itself depicts a girl’s emotional labyrinth as she confronts her “other self” against the backdrop of the modern smartphone society, through a unique worldview that fuses ‘music’ and ‘visuals.’ Member SUZUKA voices the protagonist, high school girl Shiori.

The theme song, Sailor, Sail On, was written and composed by yonkey, who also handled the soundtrack production. Amidst expansive, sweeping arrangements, grand string and brass ensembles fuse cinematically with dance beats. The group’s powerful yet delicate vocals depict the courage to move forward despite uncertainty, making this song a symbol of ATARASHII GAKKO!’s voyage as they embark on their next stage, celebrating their 10th anniversary.
