The members of ATARASHII GAKKO! have been appointed as ambassadors for the ‘GO GLOBAL PROJECT,’ an initiative that supports young people’s international experiences.

Currently, the passport ownership rate in Japan stands at about 18 percent, which is low when compared to other major developed countries such as the United States. Although ownership rates are considered relatively high among young people, the weak yen, soaring travel costs, safety concerns, and language barriers act as economic and psychological hurdles, and the reality is that only a limited number of people take the first step toward traveling abroad. Ideally, international exchange should be a two-way process, and finding ways to expand opportunities for young people to venture out into the world has become a challenge that society as a whole must address.

The four members of ATARASHII GAKKO! have been appointed as ambassadors for the project, serving as a symbol of young people who have continued to take on challenges on stages around the world.
