On November 28, singer-songwriter Natsuki Kawanishi released a new digital single, No, but… The music video for this work has also been released.

The song seeks to answer the question, “What does it mean to become an adult?” Following up on her previous work Mata Aimashou, Kawanishi collaborated with Sho Yamamoto, who has worked on numerous hit songs, on both lyrics and composition. Even on days when things don’t go as planned, the song aims to lift listeners’ spirits with its heartfelt lyrics and light, pop melody.

Kawanishi will hold solo concerts titled “last piece” in Tokyo and Osaka starting in December 2025 and into 2026. Additionally, performances in South Korea and Taiwan have also been confirmed.

“Since entering the workforce, I think everyone has moments when things don’t go as planned day after day, or when you find yourself stopping in your tracks, making excuses to yourself like, ‘No, but (Iya, datte).” Work keeps me swamped, my love life’s a mess, and I’ve got zero breathing room. Sometimes I hate myself for it, but I wrote this song to tell you, “That’s okay.”
Even on days when you can’t muster the strength, even on nights when you can’t manage a smile…if you walked home, that alone is enough. Even if things don’t go well, we’re alive today. If we can realize that, I feel like we can look forward to the future just a little bit. Like a small break in the clouds after the rain, I hope this song gently illuminates your heart.
