On July 11, singer-songwriter Natsuki Kawanishi released her new single, optimism.

The new track was produced by Sho Yamamoto, who wrote the lyrics and composed the music for FRUITS ZIPPER’s Watashino Ichiban Kawaiitokoro, and who has created music for artists across all genres. Featuring a pop sound, the song is big and positive, touting that in the modern age, it’s important to live based on ‘fun’ rather than ‘correctness.’

<Comment from Natsuki Kawanishi>
“Tokyo is a city overflowing with people, information, and ‘Kawaii.’
Amid this whirlpool, as I searched for who I was, I may have somehow forgotten how to enjoy myself.
This song, ‘optimism’ is about the importance of living a life based on ‘fun’ rather than ‘correctness.’ We think that growing up is about becoming someone else, but that’s not quite right. I try to believe optimistically in a future that I can’t see just yet.
Maybe it’s about holding on to that tenderness. I’d be happy if this song became a reminder of that.
This is the first time that I’ve entrusted the lyrics and composition of a song to someone else. I hope that my voice, along with the many feelings that reside in this track, will gently and deeply reach deep into your hearts.”
