Singer-songwriter Natsuki Kawanishi released her new digital single, The First Star, on May 1.

The First Star was written specifically as the theme song for the popular segment ‘Yonchan Mountain Climbing Club’ on MBS’s Yonchan TV. The track is an uplifting pop song that blends a lively piano melody with Kawanishi’s clear vocals. The song’s uplifting lyrics convey a positive message and brighten the hearts of those who hear them–even though we’ve faced doubts and taken detours along the way, the time we’ve spent and the people we’ve met have sustained us, allowing us to keep moving forward.

“I wrote this song out of a desire to keep moving forward, even if I get lost or take the long way. I truly believe that the time I’ve spent moving forward step by step and the people I’ve met along the way have been a source of strength for me. Perhaps the things we can’t see unless we look for them, or the light of “The First Star” that we notice only when we pause, are what give us the reason to keep moving forward. I hope this song becomes something that helps you believe in yourself during those moments when you’re working hard toward achieving a goal.”
