Mayuki will appear in the film V. MARIA, set to be screened at Meguro Cinema for two weeks only starting on April 1.

This is the first film in the ‘M CINEMA’ project, a theatrical film project for young people spearheaded by Media Mix Japan (MMJ), a production company celebrating its 30th anniversary.

The film’s main character, Maria, a high school girl, discovers that her late mother was a groupie who loved visual kei bands. As she becomes more interested in the genre by looking through her mother’s belongings, she grows as a person and reflects more on her circumstances, following in her mom’s footsteps.

After her mother’s sudden death, the main character (Maria), who grew up in a single-parent household, is sorting through her mother’s belongings and finds CDs, photos, and a diary that her mother penned when she was young, as well as an unplayable demo tape titled ‘MARIA.’
What secrets did my mother hide from me before she died? What kind of songs are on the demo tape? Maria goes to a live music venue to learn her mother’s secrets.
What awaited her was the bizarre music genre known as visual kei.
