Tokyo Community Radio (TCR), an online radio platform run by Licaxxx, has held several ‘sessions’ programs in the past, inviting musicians to improve their craft. The second digital compilation album created from these training programs, SESSIONS COLLECTION VOL.2, was released on January 17, 2025.

“sessions” is a training program specializing in dance music. The workshop helps aspiring musicians improve their skills in music production and allows up-and-coming creators to share their experiences and abilities with those wanting to break into the industry, detailing how to overcome problems and which techniques are the most effective. The advice these accomplished artists share can sometimes alter the trajectory of a musician’s life.

For the second year in a row, the training program was held in the form of a training camp. The Rainbow Disco Club (RDC) and Red Bull provided support for the event, which was held for three days and two nights in Izu, Japan under the theme of “DJs and dance music.” Artists from all over Japan, who were selected via an open call, gathered together to create a special collaborative song utilizing the advice they’d gathered from various trackmakers. 

The music produced during this “sessions” training program has been released as a digital compilation album. In addition to the many artists who participated in the event, the album includes 11 dance tracks by supporters such as Stones Taro and DJ DISK, along with Licaxxx’s first collaboration with rapper ShowyRENZO. This compilation album by the next generation of unique Japan-based artists is a must-listen for up-and-coming DJs.

To celebrate the release of the digital album, a “communities” Tour will be held throughout Japan to find even more talented creators. Starting with the Osaka show on January 18, the event will be held at 10 locations throughout Japan, with more locations to be announced.
