Makeup creator GYUTAE has announced that his first photobook, FULL MOON, will be released on January 30, 2025.

GYUTAE recently celebrated his 30th birthday. The new photobook will feature five chapters that look back at the creator’s decade-long career, with numerous photographs and notes. It will also include a 10,000-word interview.

“FULL MOON will be my first photobook. 

During the planning process, I decided to release the book to celebrate my 30th birthday, looking back on the past 10 years which have, at times, been turbulent. I wanted to incorporate my memories and feelings into the book, first and foremost. 

Questioning my sexuality, living alone in Tokyo, my chronic illness getting worse, experiencing my greatest despair, making big decisions, having hope for the future, establishing myself, and now…in each chapter of the book, you’ll be able to see various aspects of me as you experience my life through my writing.

One of the highlights is my ‘body makeover.’ 

I had no confidence in my body shape, so I started going to the gym three months before the shoot and thoroughly managed my diet to build this body for photos. I also really focused on hair and makeup, and each turn of the page will kick off a different visual experience. 

It was more difficult than I had expected to put the many feelings I’ve experienced in the past into a work of art, and it was tough conveying the images that were in my mind into words. I hope that you enjoy FULL MOON, which took a year to create, and I hope it will become a shining beacon for those who need it.”
