FRUITS ZIPPER’s new song Kawaii The Magic has been chosen as the theme song for Butt Detective: Star and Moon, a film scheduled to be released in theaters on March 20, 2025. 

Originally penned by Troll, Butt Detective is a popular children’s series that has been made into an app, picture books, novels, an anime series, and films, with the total number of copies sold worldwide exceeding 30 million. The third feature-length film is the first to be based on the Butt Detective Showdown! Kaitou Academy Starside Arc / Moonside Arc novels.

In this story, Butt Detective and his friends form an idol group to uncover the truth behind the “DARK AGE Project” by the international criminal organization “Kaitou Academy,” which operates behind the scenes of a glamorous idol contest. The theme song, Kawaii The Magic, is a song that strongly encourages listeners to never give up on their dreams and is a perfect fit for the film.

A set of seven cards featuring collaborative illustrations of Butt Detective and the FRUITS ZIPPER members will also be available.

Exclusive Bonus for Advance Ticket Purchasers: Collaboration

Starting Friday, December 20, a special collaboration between Butt Detective Movie and FRUITS ZIPPER will be launched. Limited to 10,000 sets, advance ticket buyers of the movie will receive an exclusive bonus: a specially illustrated postcard set featuring unique collaborative designs.

[Story]
Butt Detective receives a request from Koala-chan to find a lost relative who disappeared after participating in an idol contest. The contest site, Stardus Island, is the headquarters of the international crime organization Kaitou Academy and is also the site of the mysterious “DARK AGE Project” conspiracy. Butt Detective also gets a request from Chief Maltese of the Wankoro Police, asking him to take part in the investigation by infiltrating the island as an idol!
In the meantime, Kaitou U was also closing in on the academy’s headquarters, hidden deep underground on Stardus Island, to retrieve the secret Moonlight Stone from Kaito G, the boss of Kaitou Academy. To stop the dreadful plot, Butt Detective and Itou U must temporarily cooperate. What is Kaitou G’s goal? What’s the secret behind the Moonlight Stone? Who is the mysterious Kaitou U? Even Brown’s forgotten past will be revealed!
When these two, who have been eternally at odds with each other, fight together…a miracle will happen!
