The four groups belonging to KAWAII LAB―FRUITS ZIPPER, CANDY TUNE, SWEET STEADY, and CUTIE STREET―have formed the special unit TEAM KAWAII LAB. Their first collaborative song, KENKYU-CHU!, was released in advance on December 10th, ahead of the upcoming KAWAII LAB. BEST ALBUM, which will drop on February 11, 2026.

This pop anthem was born from the question “What is cute?” The track captures the joy of continually updating who you are and the positive spirit of living in a cute way together with friends. Under the theme “Research in Progress,” born from the concept “LAB. = Laboratory,” the charms of each group blend together, creating a new kind of ‘KAWAII’ like a chemical reaction. Throughout the song, fans can find lines and motifs reminiscent of each group’s title tracks, with the track designed to have the entire KAWAII LAB. worldview included in a single song. The cute refrain and vibrantly evolving sound layers playfulness and sparkle to create a pop tune uniquely embodying KAWAII LAB.’s signature style, which is truly the essence of “KAWAII today.

Additionally, to commemorate the release of the KAWAII LAB. BEST ALBUM, a collaboration café, “KAWAII LAB. × TOWER RECORDS CAFÉ,” will open at four TOWER RECORDS CAFE locations nationwide from February 5, 2026, to March 8, 2026. They will be serving food and drinks inspired by the groups to celebrate KAWAII LAB.’s 4th anniversary. A campaign will also be held where customers who pre-order the album at Tower Records Online will receive a code to apply for priority lottery entry to the collaboration cafe.

Additionally, the “KAWAII LAB. 4th Anniversary Special LIVE” event commemorating the 4th anniversary of the KAWAII LAB. project will be held for five days starting February 11 at K Arena Yokohama, followed by two days starting March 7 at Kobe World Memorial Hall.
