The fifth installment of the open-call development program “sessions” by Tokyo Community Radio (TCR), an online radio platform hosted by DJ/beatmaker Licaxxx, will be held on October 26 at Red Bull Studio Tokyo in Shibuya. Following this, the sixth installment will take place on November 8 at Kyoto Seika University.

The Tokyo edition will feature tofubeats, while the Kyoto edition includes artists based in the Kansai region, such as Stones Taro (NC4K), Naco (85acid), in the blue shirt, and Lomax (NC4K) as supporters. This session will involve both supporters and participants actively working with their hands to share their musical approaches and processes, deepening their understanding of sound.

■About ‘Tokyo Community Radio’

TCR is a distribution platform based in Tokyo that focuses on introducing both local DJs and up-and-coming DJs from around Japan. The program features all musical genres and showcases both DJ mixes and live performances. In
featured podcasts, DJs talk about their music, hobbies, and interests, allowing fans the rare chance to learn more about their favorite creators. The station also cooperates with community radio stations in other Asian cities and supports DJs and artists from Asia and beyond when they visit Japan. In addition to regular DJ sessions and podcasts, TCR also collaborates with corporate events, produces music events, and matches DJs to places and Brands.

■About ‘sessions’

A training program specializing in dance music. This program focuses not only on technical skills, but also on mindset and sustainability for DJs and producers working in the field. Led by its creator Licaxxx, along with active moderators and guest supporters, it aims to foster mutual growth among participants by sharing real challenges they currently face or have faced, methods for overcoming them, and examples of essential processes and communication beyond just technical skills.
