Auditions Open for Additional Female Band Members and Voice Actors for the Upcoming ‘Girls Band Cry’ Game

DONUTS and ASOBISYSTEM are currently holding auditions for additional female band members and voice actors who will appear in the official Girls Band Cry game, inspired by the anime series linked to a real band produced by Toei Animation.
Girls Band Cry is an anime series linked to a real-life band, which aired from April to June 2024 on TOKYO MX and other channels. The show tells the story of five girls, each with their own issues, who form the rock band Togenashi Togeari as they search for their place in the world while dealing with a series of absurd problems.
As with last year’s audition, successful candidates will be invited to appear as new cast members in the official Girls Band Cry game, as well as release songs and perform at live concerts and festivals. Additionally, Kenta Matsukuma (SCRAMBLES) will be the sound producer for the successful group’s original music.
■‘Girls Band Cry’ Additional Auditions Now Underway!
This new audition is being held jointly by DONUTS and ASOBISYSTEM, and successful candidates will be cast as new characters in the official ‘Girls Band Cry’ video game. The five divisions for this audition are vocals, guitar, bass, drums, and keyboard (no previous band experience is necessary). The selected members will form a band, and after a training period of preparation, the band will officially make its debut.
<Kenta Matsukuma (SCRAMBLES) Profile>
Born in 1979, Kenta Matsukuma is a music producer from Fukuoka, Japan.
In 2005, he made his major label debut as part of avex trax as the guitarist of the rock band Buzz72+. In 2011, he launched the music production group Scrambles.
The group has a reputation for incorporating authentic rock into J-POP, and since their debut with BiS, they have been mass-producing emotional rock numbers that overturn the very foundations of idol music. Matsukuma is also a pioneer who has greatly influenced the recent movement of idols singing rock music.
In addition to this, he is also putting his efforts into discovering and nurturing the next generation of artists by starting a label in his hometown of Fukuoka called “BAD KNee”.

Application Requirements
・Must be a female between 14 and 25 years old (as of April 1, 2025)residing in Japan
・Must be able to relocate to Tokyo if accepted
・Must not be affiliated with a specific record company or management office
・Must be able to enter into an exclusive management contact with a talent agency after being selected
※Minors must obtain the consent of a parent or guardian before applying.
※There is no participation fee to enter. However, all transportation, lodging, meals, and communication expenses incurred during the screening process are to be borne by the applicant. (During the training period for those passing the interview screening, the organizer will pay for the lessons and a portion of the transportation expenses.)

・Students will be jointly enrolled in the course with those who passed the screening of the “Girls Band Audition” held in 2024.
