Tokyo Community Radio (TCR), an online radio platform run by Licaxxx, will hold its “sessions” program for the fourth time from April 16 until April 18 at Izu Resort Villa in Shizuoka.

“sessions,” being held for the fourth time since its start in 2023, is a training program with a focus on dance music. Participants, who have already begun making their tracks, work closely with DJs and other active music creators to hone their skills and share unique experiences. The program is meant for people with little experience who want to make/release DJ tracks.

Instead of being a series of lectures, “sessions” is what the title implies–a jam session, of sorts. The 3-day/2-night camp at Izu Resort Villa, as the name suggests, emphasizes “sessioning,” with individual/group productions and discussions on the process leading up to the release of each track after its creation. The moderators, including Licaxxx and Stones Taro, will share problems they have faced during their careers and how they overcame them. The main goal of the program is to teach more about current technology and to share real-world examples that can help participants thrive.

In 2023 and 2024, SESSIONS COLLECTION Vol 1 and 2 were released as digital compilation albums containing the music produced through the “sessions” program. A 10-stop tour throughout Japan was held to commemorate the album’s release, and those supporting the event are continuing to revitalize the music community and nurture the next generation of artists.

This year, with the support of the Rainbow Disco Club in Izu and Red Bull, participants will again receive tickets to the RDC, which will be held from April 18 to 20 as a special offer to experience the world’s top-level DJs and trackmakers on stage after the camp.
