CUTIE STREET Announces 1st Anniversary Show at Pia Arena MM During Packed First Solo Concert
2025.02.04

CUTIE STREET, a group created by the KAWAII LAB. idol project, held their first solo concert in Tokyo on February 2 at Toyosu Pit. ‘CUTIE STREET 1st Solo Concert -CROSS STREET-’ was held just six months after the group’s debut, and approximately 2,200 fans packed the venue and brought incredible energy.
The group’s first single CD Can’t we just be cute? -Kawaii Dakejya Damedesuka?-, reached #3 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Ranking, and the music video for the title track has received over 27 million views in just four months. Additionally, CUTIE STREET’s performance on THE FIRST TAKE received over nine million views in its first month and a half on YouTube, ranking first on the site’s ‘Fastest Rising Videos’ chart.
Tickets for this solo concert sold out immediately after the start of general sales. Although the day was extremely cold, with snow in the forecast, the venue was filled with excitement even before the show began. The audience cheered when the members appeared on stage in their new costumes as the Overture played, and the girls quickly performed Hello Hello Future and Love Train in succession. The long-awaited show started with an imposing performance that answered the passionate wishes of the fans.
During the MC, Haruka Sakuraba cheerfully shouted to the crowd, showing her enthusiasm. “Today, I’ll make everyone the happiest person in the world,” she said. There was also a scene in which Risa Furusawa interviewed the members regarding the CUTIE points of their new costumes. According to Aika Sano, the most adorable thing was “the ribbon inside of another ribbon.”
During the next portion of the show, the girls shared their inner passion and incredible dance moves with Answer before emotionally moving the audience with their vocals while performing daylight. The group surprised fans with a cool dance performance followed by a new song, Chotto Hitosaji, about a jealous girl’s heart. With their powerful vocals and dance moves, they showed the ever-changing side of CUTIE STREET, which is “more than just cute.”
The concert continued with another new song, World Makeup Project. The up-tempo song was created by Aribobo (Yabai T-Shirts Yasan), and given the girl’s unity and excitement, it was hard to believe that it was being performed for the first time. The popular track Serious Cinderella!, which was viewed five million times within two weeks of the music video’s release, completely enthralled the fans gathered at the venue.
During the second half of the show, the third new song, Spring Flake, was performed. With a cute pop melody, the song cheers on people trying their best in a new environment. The fans were excited by the rush of new songs, and the venue was quickly filled with the sparkle and glam of the recently released Happy World! The final track was the group’s most popular song and the one that led to their breakthrough, Can’t we just be cute? -Kawaii Dakejya Damedesuka~. The excitement found in the venue reached its peak as the winter sky was blown away by an explosion of joy. And with that, the main part of the live concert ended amidst the cheers of the fans.
The members returned to the stage after the audience passionately called them back for an encore. After thanking the fans, the girls performed the new song, World Makeup Project, one more time. “I’m so happy that everyone renews my joy each and every day,” Emiru Kawamoto said with tears in her eyes. All the members thanked the fans and moved on to the last song, which, of course, was Can’t we just be cute? -Kawaii Dakejya Damedesuka?-. However, just as the song was about to begin, an image suddenly appeared on the screen. A surprise announcement detailed that CUTIE STREET would celebrate the first anniversary of their debut with a concert, and the members couldn’t hide their shock. The event will be held on October 12 and October 13 at Pia Arena MM, the group’s largest venue to date. The eight girls couldn’t hold back their tears, and each thanked the fans for helping them to achieve this major milestone. Fittingly, the fans shouted their congratulations.
In the midst of this euphoria, the girls performed Can’t we just be cute? -Kawaii Dakejya Damedesuka?- one more time. The song is truly the group’s signature track and has grown with the girls as they have become more confident with each performance since their debut. CUTIE STREET performed the song to the best of their ability, expressing their gratitude to their fans and their wishes for their first anniversary, bringing the curtain down on their first solo live performance. The endless applause and the eight-color penlights shining in the audience seemed to illuminate and lead the way for CUTIE STREET to continue moving forward.
CUTIE STREET had a very successful first solo live concert only six months after their debut. However, the girls are still growing and evolving. Fans are eager to see where the future will take this talented group.
Additionally, this CUTIE STREET concert is now available to watch on Hulu. A two-hour-plus documentary featuring footage of the emotional “training camp audition” that the eight members went through before their debut is also available to stream. An “SP Viewing” of the documentary by the members will also be available, and tickets are now on sale.
