Okinawa-based dance and vocal unit JUICYJUICY released its fourth digital single, MIDSUMMER, on June 12.

This is the second release in the group’s summer song series and weaves together rap verses that reflect emotional instability into a sweet yet bitter melody. The track depicts memories of a summer spent on the beaches of Okinawa and the struggles of a love that can’t be openly expressed. Following his work on the previous album, YUKI JOLLY ROGER—who has been a member of BENNIE K since 2001 and is currently active as a composer and sound producer—wrote the lyrics and composed the music. This summer ballad evokes a new side of JUICYJUICY, in a world where childhood memories live on in the hearts of four people living in the here and now.
