Okinawa Dance & Vocal Unit JUICYJUICY Debuts

2025.05.16

JUICYJUICY, a new dance and vocal unit formed by the finalists of the 2021 ASOBISYSTEM Okinawa Prefecture resident-only audition, has officially made its debut. The group’s single HeyWorld What’sUp is now available to stream.

JUICYJUICY consists of middle and high school students with an average age of 14 (as of May 2025). The members include Sana Taira (13), Saara Higa (13), Reiri Iha (15), and Ami Touma (14). The group name is derived from “juicy,” a local Okinawan cooked rice dish, which expresses the group’s desire to become a group loved by men and women of all ages by mixing and mingling various personalities into one.

The group’s debut song, HeyWorld What’sUp, features music by YUKI JOLLY ROGER, a member of BENNIE K since 2001 who currently works as a composer and sound producer. The song is refreshing yet nostalgic with the essence of a Heisei era hit song, and the girls’ bright and positive energy reaches straight to the hearts of listeners with its pleasant sound.

<Comment from YUKI JOLLY ROGER>

“This song is based on JUICYJUICY’s artist image, which is entirely cheerful and positive, and that’s what I wanted to share with listeners. For example, even though it’s important to be careful when using social media, there are so many relaxing and peaceful ways to use these sites too, depending on your literacy.
I believe that even a simple word or a casual greeting can make people happy and bring peace to the world, even if only for a moment. That’s the energy I got from these girls as I created this work.”
